About Us

Pharaoh’s Hairum Salon & Spa opened in 1980 with only three employees in a 600 square foot space! In an industry where salons were run by stylists with little or no business skills, owners Stephen and Susan Minute opened with the goal to run as if Pharaoh’s Hairum were already a large corporation, to help bring professionalism to our industry, to provide staff with goals and opportunities to grow and advance, and provide our clients with exceptional customer service and satisfaction. Within three years, we outgrew our small space and purchased our current salon on West Henrietta Road. In 1991 we opened a second location in the Town of Pittsford, and in 1992 opened a third location in a building we purchased in the City of Rochester. In 1995, we combined the City location business into the Henrietta location remodeling the entire building into a salon and spa. In the year 2000, we moved the Pittsford location into the Town of Fairport at Packett’s Landing on the canal, and designed a separate spa and a larger salon.

Our philosophy is for the entire salon and spa to work together as a team to service each individual client and provide excellent customer service. We strive to provide the tools and assistance necessary to our staff to help them achieve their goals individually and as a team.

Because we so strongly believe in our teamwork, we encourage our clients to please feel free to receive services from different stylists and technicians within our company. This will provide our clients with various artistic input and access to multi-talents. It also helps our clients to feel comfortable with other technicians when they are scheduling appointments convenient for them.

Meet Pharaoh’s Hairum Salon and Spa’s Training Team!
Our training team consists of technicians with extensive experience and knowledge in both technical skill, product knowledge and customer service. The training team not only provides outside and in-house training for Pharaoh’s Hairum’s technical staff, they are in charge of hiring and training all new technicians for the design team. They work with new technicians through an apprentice program and ensure superb skills in both technical skills and customer service in order to meet the company’s high expectations!

Stephen Minute
Owner/Educational Director
Stephen has over 30 years as a hair designer. He has experience as an educator and platform artist with major salon distributors and manufacturers. He has performed freelance work that has been displayed on New York City’s Marriott Marquis. Stephen heads Pharaohs Hairum’s Training Design Team and is in charge of the technical side of the business and associate/assistance training program. He has been recognized with the Master of The Craft Award from the Art & Fashion Group International.

Susan Minute
Owner/Finance & Marketing Director
Susan is in charge of both the Finance and Marketing departments of Pharaoh’s Hairum. She is a graduate with honors from Alfred State College, and has also completed numerous marketing, business and salon seminars and classes. She has previous experience in the Personnel Department of a large corporation. She is listed in Biltmore’s Who’s Who in Business, and is a member of the Professional Business Association for salon owners.

Barbara Alongi
Human Resource & Inventory Director/Business Manager
Barbara has been with Pharaohs Hairum over 15 years starting out as a Customer Service Representative and working her way to overseeing both of our salons. She works with each location and their managers to ensure outstanding operation of the company and excellent customer service. She handles the company’s human resource and oversees our inventory management. She is a graduate of Bryant & Stratton Business Institute in Fashion Merchandising and has an extensive background in management and customer service in the restaurant industry.

Laura Horsey
Henrietta Salon Manager
Laura joined Pharaoh’s Hairum Team in September of 2006. She has come to Pharaoh’s Hairum with a retail background of plus 20 years of experience. Laura was a team leader and traveled within upstate New York as a Manager Trainer and a Display Director. She oversees the management of our Henrietta location and leads the customer service representatives. When she’s not managing our Henrietta location, Laura enjoys animals, entertaining, cooking, camping, long road trips and walking along the beach!

Karen Bardo
Customer Service Representative/Inventory Coordinator
Karen joined the Pharaoh’s Hairum Design Team in November of 1995. She is a licensed Cosmetologist who worked as a Hair Designer for Pharaoh’s Hairum for ten years before she took over the position as one of our Customer Service Representatives. Her job consists of greeting clients, setting up appointments, and ensuring client satisfaction. Karen was then promoted to take on the additional position of Inventory Coordinator where she is also in charge of assisting the Inventory Director with placing orders, tracking inventory, and setting up product displays for the Henrietta location. When Karen is not working, she enjoys shopping, jewelry and spending time with her wonderful loving husband and three children.

Jennifer Stauffer
Booking Room Coordinator/Marketing Assistant
Jennifer joined the Pharaoh’s Hairum team in 2008 as our Booking Room Coordinator. She answers the lines in our booking room, along with handling marketing assignments, client emails, and on-line scheduling. She assists the marketing director with Henrietta promotions, and she oversees booking room assignments with the other Booking Room Customer Service Representatives. She assists in communication with all customer service representatives.

Claudia Martin
Fairport Salon Manager
Claudia has been a manager for Pharaoh’s Hairum for the last ten years. She currently oversees our Fairport location. She has a background in her own family’s business and fifteen years plus in retail management! When not running things at the Fairport location, she enjoys time spent with her grandson!

Annie Saunder
Fairport Customer Service Relations Manager/Inventory Coordinator
Annie oversees the front desk and customer service standards in Fairport. She has thirteen years of retail sales and customer service experience, and 10 years of management experience with six of them being at Pharaoh’s Hairum. She oversees the front desk operation ensuring customer service standards are being met. She also oversees the inventory management, ordering and creating displays for the Fairport location. When she’s not working, she enjoys spending time with her family and friends, going to movies, shopping, and going out to dinner!

Sara Olejarczyk
Fairport Customer Service Coordinator/Marketing Assistant
Sara handles customer service and marketing for our Fairport location. She assists the marketing director with marketing programs for that location, and she handles email promotions, client emails, on-line scheduling, client surveys, and develops on-going in-house promotions. She assists in ensuring that the front desk operations are running according to our customer service standards. She loves working with people and takes pride in Pharaoh’s excellent customer service. When she’s not working, she enjoys shopping, decorating, going out to dinner, as well as spending time with family, friends and her kitten, Lola!
